Both sides need the protected channel
An encrypted app call is different from dialing a regular phone number. Participants must use a supported encrypted mode. Ordinary carrier voice calls and SMS should not be treated as end-to-end encrypted. Backups, linked devices and recipient behavior also affect confidentiality.
Understand the remaining footprint
